Czech rapper, singer, musician and poet James Cole (real name Daniel Ďurech) is coming to the biggest city on Hornád this Saturday (23.02.2019)!

He is going to play a live concert here after 15 years, for the first time on the big stage of the Collosseum music club.

Unforgettable “honey-biting” voice, uncompromising flow of thoughts (understand strict flow), work with Czech (+ English) language in the lyrics, quality musical background and above all sound in his songs make James since his debut album “Phat: Frekvence P.H.A.T.” (2002) one of the leading personalities of Czech rap.

“..and I 'm not ashamed to admit that I'm the one who goes with the crowd with my rap - you know what I'm talking about, I'm happy to put a hit on whenever I want..” - Phat

Cole has made a name for himself on the scene and his last live performance in this great community of ours without big sports venues was in 2005 as MC Phat in the SuperCrooo project (a.k.a. K.O. Kru, a.k.a. DIXXX) in a duo with his partner Hugo Toxxx. “Toxic funk”, “Neurofolk” and ‘DIXXX’ = 3 strong albums followed by the selection “Two nosy dancers tanking super” and the duo's performance in the film “Czech RAPublika” remind more of the business model of a pop band's career from the 90s. However, SuperCrooo did not make it into the mass media too much, on the contrary, they became a cult “underground” affair; not only in the Czech Republic, but also in the Czech Republic. The silent member of the lyrical army - wittily and explicitly dissing everything and everyone - then became the old Czech punk and producer Dědek a.k.a. DJ Risto.

"It's DJ Risto! He's directing it like Jakubisko!" - James Cole
Hugo goes trap life today, but James Cole is still experimenting in his work.
His albums are conceptually, musically and lyrically different from one another, even the fans themselves have no idea what will come out next.

The prolific period of SuperCrooo was followed in Cole's career first by a collaboration with Orion of PSH = “Orikoule”, then the record ‘Nadzemí’ with LA4 and MikeTraffic. In between he released the very successful R'n'B / funk flick “James Cole is Captain Love” and then the rap “tohle není album” "Halucinace ze 3. Both albums were made again in collaboration with Rist, who became James's producer of choice for other things as well. The Moby Dick and Orpheus albums are harder to digest material for the average ear, James returns to serious themes without the obvious sarcasm we are used to - except for his debut. “It ain't no honey to turn water into wine” - Captain Love

It will be the aforementioned DJ Risto who will be supporting James from behind his back on his current #KUFFENHEIMTOUR tour for his latest album, STANLEY KUFFENHEIM (2018).
It's a dark electronic rap album with mature, wise, even adult lyrics, released on James' own Kuffenheim Sound label. The album was originally intended to be the soundtrack to a video game, so it was preceded by a crowdfunding campaign on hithit.cz, where James raised about 4 times the amount required to produce the album directly from his fans. The production of the game foundered somewhere, but the album is going strong, and you can listen to it live on Saturday.

“Lots of people are looking for a manual for how to live - lookin' for a manual” - Stanley Kuffenheim
A new live project, FIASKOTEK (it's written in French on the poster), will be featured from local artists. The name is modest, the lyrics are great, the music too, it's going to be a disco fiasco! Fiascotheque consists of a street art hero (MC Bady) with a microphone in his hand, a trumpeter and economic emigrant to the capital of the Slovak Republic in one person (Valér J.) and an excellent DJ, the author of the font for the poster for this event and still fresh love emigrant from the Czech Republic (DJ Teo). The latter will play some records before and maybe b2b and after the concerts, when the young talented DJ XX73 will already be behind the mixing podium and needle. From records to dance he plays mainly 90s-00s raps.

Concerts end at 22:00. The party with the DJs will be longer (but not until the morning)!
That said: come, call all your mates and join in the fun on fb:https://www.facebook.com/events/521354621664165/
